The Department of Mathematics at the University of Ghana is a dynamic hub for research and education in pure and applied mathematics. Our team of experts in pure mathematics explore the newest and most exciting research topics in number theory, algebra, geometry, analysis, PDEs, and combinatorics. As for applied mathematics, we actively seek significant connections with other fields that could inspire new and valuable mathematical discoveries. Through innovative mathematical reasoning, we strive to achieve fresh insights and applications. Our applied math specialists concentrate on computational science, numerical analysis, financial mathematics, and theoretical physics.

Dr. Joseph Kojo Ansong was appointed as one of the Executive Directors on the newly inaugurated Governing Council of the Ghana Water Institute (GWI), where he will contribute to providing strategic leadership and institutional oversight to advance the Institute's mandate.
