Distance Education Department Lights Up 2025 Wear UG Day Celebration
On 17 September 2025, a students’ forum, dubbed "As You Prepare for Your Exams," was held via MS Teams from 6:00 pm to 8:20 pm at the Department of Distance Education, attracting over 500 students. This was the second forum for the second semester and the fourth in the series for the 2024/2025 academic year. The goal was to discuss key strategies for exam preparation.

The University of Ghana has emerged as the top-ranked university in Ghana and the second-best in the West African sub-region in the inaugural Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, placing 187th globally.
Over the weekend, as part of the Diaspora Campuses Project Tour, the President of the University of Ghana Distance Education Junior Common Room (UGDE–JCR), H.E Solomon Avorkah, paid an official visit to the Kumasi Learning Center.

The UG Distance Education Junior Common Room officially kicked off the 2024/2025 academic year in style with its highly anticipated Freshers AKWAABA Festival and AKWAABA Night, a full-day celebration dedicated to warmly welcoming newly admitted students into the university community.
The Department of Distance Education's Student Support Unit held its maiden student forum for the 2024/2025 academic year on March 7th, 2025, via Microsoft Teams. The virtual event attracted over 1,000 participants, including students and faculty. Aligned with the University of Ghana's strategic plan, the forum aimed to enhance student engagement and address concerns about examinations and academic integrity.
