UG Registrar Visits Athletes at 27th GUSA Games

The Registrar, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, has paid an official visit to student athletes and officials representing the University at the ongoing 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games being hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The Senior Assistant Registrar at the Sports Directorate, Mr. Augustine Amissare welcomed the Registrar to the Games. He remarked that having the Registrar visit the Team at the Games will spur the athletes to give their all as they compete for laurels at the Games.

Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, in her statement, reiterated the University’s excitement at having the athletes represent the University at the 27th GUSA Games. She added that Senior Management followed their preparations closely prior to the Games and that they were hopeful that the athletes will bring home the medals and the overall trophy. Mrs. Agyei-Mensah commended the athletes for combining academic work with sports. She admonished them to continue at it because it has the potential of building them for the world of work after they graduate from their respective academic programmes.

On behalf of her fellow athletes, Miss. Jemila Bukari Rockson thanked the Registrar for taking time off her busy schedule to visit the team in Kumasi. She promised that as athletes, they would put in maximum effort to bring home the trophy.

The Registrar officially represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, at the Opening Ceremony of the 27th GUSA Games held at the Paa Joe Stadium.
