About the Department

The Music Department at the University of Ghana has iconic status within Ghana and Africa and a history with roots that stretch back to Ghanaian independence. The Department prides itself on being the “Gateway to African Music scholarship.” It is a space where music scholarship and performances are encouraged and taught.
