The Department of Music, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, invites you to a three day international conference on Comparative Musicology in the 21st Century, taking place from 15 to 17 September 2026 at the Department of Music, University of Ghana, Legon.

The conference is organised in collaboration with the Collaborative Research Center Transformations of the Popular, through its Low Pop subproject at the University of Siegen, Germany, with funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG). The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 15 September, at 1:30 p.m., chaired by Prof. Sylvanus Kwashie Kuwor, Acting Dean of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana. Prof. Sylvia Bruinders of the University of Cape Town will deliver the keynote address. Prof. Dr. Florian Heesch of the University of Siegen is also a featured speaker.
