The Pop Ensemble of the Department of Music invites students and members of the university community to Come, Let’s Sing Highlife!, an interactive evening of Ghanaian highlife music led by First-Year Pop Ensemble students.

The students will perform a selection of familiar classic highlife songs, with the audience invited to sing along whenever they recognise a song or chorus. The event offers an informal and communal space for students to encounter highlife through active participation, shared memory and performance.

Dubbed Love and Death, the event will celebrate his music through an intimate live performance in the Department’s courtyard.

The Departments of Music in collaboration with the Theatre Arts Department, presents "Esther – A Musical" by Richard Cowling, as part of the End of Semester Concert series. This production is mounted by the Choral Ensemble as a culminating performance project, that brings together vocal training, dramatic interpretation, and stagecraft within a fully realised musical theatre context.

This concert presents a culmination of practical work undertaken by students over the semester, highlighting ensemble-based approaches to music-making within Ghanaian and African traditions. The performances will showcase a range of idioms including Jama, atenteben, adenkum, and dance-music, that reflects pedagogical engagement and artistic interpretation by the students.
