Abstract: All the known interactions have a gauge theoretical description except gravity. Light was the first gauge theory, more precisely, it is an abelian gauge theory. The other interactions, save gravity, are examples of non-abelian gauge theories. In this talk, we try to describe gravity as a non-abelian gauge theory. All interactions in the standard model have a gauge theoretic framework therefore we anticipate that such a framework will allow for the introduction of gravity into the standard model which may lead to new physics.
