Ben Fiebor is a Ghanaian by birth. He holds a B.S. degree (1989) in Geology with Chemistry from the University of Ghana (Ghana), an M.S. degree (1994) in Geology from Auburn University, Alabama (USA), and a Ph.D. degree (2003) in Materials Engineering, Materials Education and Research Center, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama (USA).
Dr. Fiebor has been a member of Professional Associations which include, the Ghana Science Association; and the Geological and Materials Societies of Auburn University.
On specialization and research interests, Dr. Ben Fiebor has capabilities in and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Geology (Mineralogy, Petrology, Geochemistry, Practical Crystallography, Analytical Techniques in Geology, Analytical Methods in Geoscience and Data Reduction), and courses in Engineering of Materials (Material Engineering), including Smart Materials, Conducting Polymers, Biosensors; and manages Specialty-equipment including SEM, PXRD, XRF, SC-XRD, NMR and ICP-MS at the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS), at the University of Ghana, Legon-Accra, Ghana. His research interests are in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automatic Control, and Mechatronics; Materials Testing and Characterisation, and Development of Sensors; Networking for Instrumentation, Mathlab, LabVIEW, and Python Programming. In Collaboration with the Department of Physics, University of Ghana, Legon and Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama (USA). Dr. Fiebor is working on “Analysis of powder and thin films of metal oxide semiconductors and geological materials, using X-ray techniques and Photoluminescence Spectrometry. Dr. Fiebor has skills in installing and operating specialty equipment (e.g., XRD, SEM, and NMR). He engages in Computer-based data acquisition and process control systems, as well as experimental design and operating procedures].

Supervises Technologists and Research Assistants in the College, in the departments of Chemistry and Earth Science.
Worked as an Instrumentation Specialist with Engineers, Technicians, and Administrators from Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, on the project to supply and install Science Laboratory Equipment, Machines, and instruments at the University of Ghana, the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, and the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, on a contract agreement signed in May 17th, 2016, ref. no. GR/UOG/GD/ICT001/015 dated 31st May, 2016.

Provides technical assistance to Departments in CBAS. Mentors both undergraduates and graduate students on strategies to help complete their programs, and assists those seeking to study abroad for their graduate degrees.
In March 2023, helped to check the status of the NMR Probe at KNUST, and in March, 2024 assisted in restoring the same (NMR) in the Chemistry Department to its operational status.
