Dr. Prince Ofori Amponsah is a structural geologist and a metallogenist, with special interest in hydrothermal ore deposits. Prince hold a BSc (Hons), MPhil degrees in Geology from the University of Ghana and a PhD degree from the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse III).
Prince is part of the West African Exploration Initiative (WAXI), a research and training program financed by the mining Industries particularly in West Africa, under the management of AMIRA International. This broad spectrum of research, focuses mainly on the mineral potential (in terms of prospectivity and exploitation) of the greenstone belts and basins of the West African Craton.
Prince has worth of industrial experience, spanning from grass root exploration to large scale drill-outs and the writing of technical and competent person’s reports in both the metallic and industrial mineral industry. He has worked with Azumah resources Limited; SMGlobal Sarl (Burkina Faso) where he consulted to various companies such as Volta Mining and Riedel Resources and KAM Associates on the Forecariah Iron ore deposit in Guinea. He is a member of the Geological Society of Africa, Tectask (IUGS), American Association of Petroleum Geologist and the Society of Exploration Geophysicist.
