19th - 20th July 2019 Congregation Notice

 
JULY 19TH AND 20TH CONGREGATION CEREMONIES
 
1. Congregation is on Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th, 2019.  You may check the Congregation Schedule link listed on the right side of this page for further details.
2. Important information regarding registration for congregation and payment may be found on the University of Ghana Congregation website: http://www.ug.edu.gh/congregation.
3. Lists of graduands to be presented in July 2019 will be available from Monday, July 8th, 2019 on the University website. 
4. Graduands who wish to attend the Congregation will be required to register on-line  and make payment from Monday, July 8th to July 17th, 2019.  Graduands should ensure that they register online before making the expected payment to avoid complications.
5. Following registration, an invoice will be generated for payment of the congregation fee of GH¢ 250.00.
There are two modes of payment:
i.  Online Payment using Mobile Money or  Debit/Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard) on the registration portal- this reflects instantly (You can pick up academic gown, etc. immediately)
ii. Payment at any branch of Ecobank Ghana Limited into the University of Ghana Congregation account - this reflects within 24 hours (Pick up next day)

6. Students with outstanding bills should contact the STUDENTS ACCOUNTS OFFICE promptly to settle them. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that obligations on his/her account to the University are met to enable records to be cleared for registration. Students with outstanding fees on their account may be barred from registration and receipt of their UG Transcripts/Certificates.
7. Upon presentation of Student ID and payment slip at the collection point, graduands will be issued with Academic Gowns, Invitation Cards and University of Ghana Souvenirs.
Collection and return point for:
  • Graduate Programmes from all Colleges except EMBA - From School of Graduate Studies from 9am - 5pm, weekdays
  • EMBA Programme - From UGBS Graduate Building from 8am - 5pm weekdays.
  • B.Sc Admin Programme - From UGBS Academic Office (3rd FLoor, Main Campus Front Block, UGBS) from 8am - 5pm.
  • All College of Health Sciences Undergraduate Programmes - From the Deans' Offices of  the relevant Schools (Nursing & Midwifery, Pharmacy, Medicine & Dentistry, Biomedical & Allied Health Sciences)
  • All College of Basic and Applied Sciences Undergraduate Programmes - From the Deans' Offices of the relevant Schools ( Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Engineering, Biological Sciences, Physical & Mathematical Sciences) 
8. Deadline for registration for Congregation: 
WEDNESDAY, 17th JULY, 2019 AT 12:00 MIDNIGHT PROMPT!    
9. All entry/exit gates on the University campus will be open on Congregation day and may be used by all.
10. No vehicles will be allowed in the vicinity of the Great Hall. Graduands and their guests are to park their vehicles at designated areas and join shuttle buses to and from the Great Hall.
11. Graduands should locate their seats prior to the commencement of the ceremony. Graduands should be seated by 8.00 a.m. 
12. Graduands should not loiter at the entrance to the Great Hall and around its perimeter.
13. Graduands will be recognized individually by officials on the dais.
14. Male graduands are expected to take off their caps before approaching the dais.
15. Graduates are asked to return the rented gowns to the relevant collection point from Monday, 22nd  to Friday, 26th July, 2019, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.each day.
Failure to return gowns as required during this period will attract a weekly penaltyLate submission should be done at Room D7, Academic Affairs Directorate, in the Registry, where the penalty will be determined.
16. Upon return of the full gown set (hood, gown and cap) and presentation of Student Identification Card or valid picture ID, Academic Certificates will be issued to graduates.
17. Graduands are encouraged to register officially as alumni of the University of Ghana by filling forms available at the UG Alumni Relations Office desk at the Great Hall, before or after the congregation ceremony.
