What to do on graduation day

Arrival:

Ceremonies will be undertaken on the University campus physically for all graduands. The venues are the Great Hall and the Cedi Conference Centre. The Ceremonies will include speeches by key Officials and selected Valedictorians, and then, the official conferment of degrees culminating with the presentation of registered Graduands. 

Graduands and their invited guests should present themselves at the University of Ghana Main Campus in Legon. Attire should be formal and graduands should don on their academic gowns in the appropriate manner. There are designated car parks at various sites on campus where they will be directed to park.

Transportation

There will be shuttle buses to pick graduands at the following locations to and from the Congregation Grounds from 21st-25th March, 2023. Please click below for further information:

Seating

Graduands will be assigned seat numbers follwoing the deadlne of regsitration. Log in again to check your assigned seat number and take note of it. Graduand are expected to report 30 minutes prior to starrt of the ceremony in order to be seated. Graduands should locate their seats prior to the commencement of the ceremony.  Late reportees will be required to sit outside.Graduands should not loiter at the entrance to the Hall and around its perimeter, please.

Proceedings

Graduands will be recognized individually by officials on the dais.

Male graduands are expected to take off their caps before approaching the dais.

 

Live-Streaming of Proceedings

Videos for each ceremony  will be live-streamed on the University Website. The links will be made available on the homepage for graduands and other interested viewers to access live on from 21st - 25th March, 2023 and will subsequently be available on the UG YouTube page for replay at anytime.
