The University of Ghana's College of Humanities, School of Languages, is pleased to announce its 5th School of Languages Interdisciplinary Conference, scheduled for October 15-17, 2025.

This year's conference theme is: "Language, Digital Humanities, and Climate Change: Rethinking Communication, Education, and Advocacy in the Digital Age."

Preparing the Next Generation of Interpreters in Africa

The premier tertiary institution, the University of Ghana, has been training conference interpreters for the continent since 2012. Over the years, the M. A. Conference Interpreting programme has gained a solid reputation as a centre of excellence for interpreter training as its graduates succeed on the market. As part of efforts to keep the curriculum relevant and up-to-date, the programme coordinator participates in conferences, workshops and webinars which focus on Interpreting.

The Department of French proudly congratulates Mensimah E. Appiah-Thompson (also known as Mensimah Thompson-Kwaffo) on the successful defense of her doctoral thesis. Mensimah Thompson-Kwaffo is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Ashesi University. Her research, titled “Communication Strategies and Oral Productions in French as a Foreign Language (FFL): A Study on Ghanaian University Students,” explores an important area in language learning and teaching.

Warmest congratulations to Dr. Linda Esinam Dakey on achieving her Doctor of Philosophy in Language Practice with a specialisation in Translation Studies from the University of the Free State!
