
Call for Abstracts: 5th School of Languages Interdisciplinary Conference at the University of Ghana
The University of Ghana's College of Humanities, School of Languages, is pleased to announce its 5th School of Languages Interdisciplinary Conference, scheduled for October 15-17, 2025.
This year's conference theme is: "Language, Digital Humanities, and Climate Change: Rethinking Communication, Education, and Advocacy in the Digital Age."
We are honored to host Professor Dr. Adams Bodomo, Chair Professor of African Linguistics and Literatures at the University of Vienna, Austria, and Europe & CIPSH Chair in Linguistics and Biodiversity, School of Languages, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana, as our keynote speaker.
We invite abstract submissions on a range of compelling sub-themes, including but not limited to:
Linguistic Framing of Climate Change - How language shapes public perception, policy, and activism.
Digital Humanities & Climate Narratives - Using text mining, AI, and computational linguistics to study climate discourse.
Misinformation & Climate Denialism - Digital strategies for detecting and countering climate misinformation.
Climate Education Multilingual Communication - The role of language in climate literacy across different educational systems and cultures.
Storytelling, Indigenous Knowledge & Climate Justice - How digital humanities can amplify marginalized voices in climate discourse.
Submission Guidelines:
Abstracts must be in English, French, or an African language.
Maximum word count: 500 words.
Must be accompanied by 5-6 keywords.
Submissions must be fully anonymized.
Only one single and co-authored submission is allowed per person.
In a separate document, please attach a brief summary biography (100-150 words) for each author, highlighting their research interests and academic background.

Notification of Acceptance: August 29, 2025
Final Revision: September 5, 2025
