As a part of the School of Languages under the esteemed College of Humanities, our department is dedicated to promoting and enhancing proficiency in French language studies. We offer a range of courses and programs, designed to prepare our students for success in their academic and professional pursuits, both domestically and internationally.

As a dynamic and forward-thinking department, we recognize the importance of equipping our students with the skills necessary to succeed in today's ever-evolving global landscape. In response to the growing demand for expertise in translation and conference interpreting, we have recently expanded our offerings to include these specialized fields. Our courses are designed to provide our students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience necessary to excel in these areas and beyond.

At the undergraduate level, we offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in French, with a focus on cultivating well-rounded language proficiency skills in our students. For those seeking advanced studies, we provide a range of graduate programs, including a Master of Arts in Translation, a Master of Arts in Conference Interpreting, and a Master of Philosophy in French, which involves rigorous coursework and research opportunities in Literature, Linguistics, and Didactics. For those pursuing doctoral studies, we offer a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in French, with a focus on Literature, Linguistics, Didactics, and Translation Studies.

Our commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive language education extends beyond our degree programs. We offer French Language Proficiency courses at all levels to the general public, catering to those who are eager to learn French as a second language. Our courses are designed to be engaging, fun, and immersive, providing students with a supportive learning environment that encourages growth and development. Upon completion of each course, students receive a Certificate of Participation, further recognizing their dedication and commitment to language learning.

As part of our department's mission to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the French language and culture, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities. Our Translation Bureau, known as THE TRANSBUREAU, provides expert translation and interpretation services to individuals, departments, and institutions. Our highly skilled and experienced team of translators and interpreters ensure accuracy and quality, while providing exceptional customer service and support.
