Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the kind and hardworking staff, who guided them through the company to witness the practical applications of their classroom training. The tour began at Tema Steel Company Limited, where Solomon provided a detailed explanation of the steel formation process. He discussed the raw materials used, including scrap metals like mild steel, and introduced the students to the various equipment such as arc furnaces and induction furnaces. The processes involved in steel production, including melting, casting, forging, were thoroughly explained. It was fascinating to see how basic market products were made from these raw materials.
A standout moment of the day was witnessing molten metal being poured into a mold for sand casting. The precision, expertise, and hard work of the workers at Tema Steel Company Limited were truly impressive.
