On Thursday, June 25, 2025, Level 400 Materials Science and Engineering students had the opportunity to visit Tema Steel Company Limited and West African Forgings Limited. This experience has significantly shaped their perspectives, leaving a lasting impression.

The tour began at Tema Steel Company Limited, where Solomon provided a detailed explanation of the steel formation process. He discussed the raw materials used, including scrap metals like mild steel, and introduced the students to the various equipment such as arc furnaces and induction furnaces. The processes involved in steel production, including melting, casting, forging, were thoroughly explained. It was fascinating to see how basic market products were made from these raw materials.
