The University of Ghana, through the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Ghana Company Limited. The signing took place at a brief ceremony held at the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Development (RID).
The University of Ghana was represented by Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante (Pro VC, RID), together with Prof. Emmanuel Nyankson (Head of Department) and Prof. Boateng Onwona-Agyeman. Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Ghana Company Limited was represented by its Managing Director, Mr. RyutaYoshikawa.

The MoU seeks to foster collaboration between the Department and Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Ghana in the development and implementation of short training programmes (including short-term courses and workshops), as well as the facilitation of internship opportunities and job placements for students. A key highlight of the agreement is the establishment of the “Toyota Academy”, a collaborative platform between the University and Toyota Tsusho aimed at advancing skills development and employment creation for Ghanaian youth.
