Bridging classroom knowledge with industry practice. Our Level 300 Materials Science and Engineering students had the privilege of participating in an intensive Concrete Technology Training at MC Bauchemie Ghana Limited.
Through expert-led sessions and practical demonstrations, students gained valuable insights into concrete mix design, hydration chemistry, water-cement ratio optimization, quality control standards, and the critical role of chemical and mineral admixtures in enhancing workability, strength, durability, and sustainability. The training also provided firsthand exposure to innovative concrete solutions, including superplasticizers, retarders, accelerators, and waterproofing technologies used in modern construction.
This experience strengthened their understanding that producing durable and sustainable concrete structures requires more than theory—it demands technical expertise, quality materials, adherence to standards, and practical application. We extend our sincere appreciation to the MC Bauchemie team for investing in the next generation of engineers and providing an enriching learning environment that connected fundamental concrete science with real-world industry practice.
