On 2nd January 2026, the UGDE-JCR Executive Office was commissioned and handed over its renovated office at a landmark ceremony, marking a significant milestone in advancing student governance and welfare within the Distance Education community of the University of Ghana. The Avorkah-Norvivor led Administration successfully renovated and presented a new UGDE-JCR Executive Office, providing the future executives with a functional, dignified, and purpose-driven workspace to better serve the student populace. The picturesque setting of the Higher Heights Hotel was the backdrop for a critical and inspiring four-day residential training workshop, where faculty members gathered to revolutionise the course materials for the Distance Education (DE) Master’s Educational Technology Programme.
The night sizzled, and the moon shone bright on Friday, November 28, 2025, when the College of Education celebrated its 2nd Staff and Students Awards & Dinner Night at the Great Hall, University of Ghana. The event began in earnest at 4:00 pm, as the sun slowly glided towards rest. The three schools, School of Communication and Information Studies, School of Leadership and Teacher Education and the School of Continuing and Distance Education announced their presence in elegant fashion styles and glamour.
Head of Department Engages Learning Centres to Sharpen Quality
The Academic Affairs Directorate has issued a directive to all applicants for undergraduate admission following the release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results. In the notice, the Directorate advised prospective undergraduate students to log in to the University of Ghana Applications Portal and update their details in line with their newly released results. Applicants were encouraged to complete this process promptly to ensure smooth progression of the admission procedures.
On 17 September 2025, a students’ forum, dubbed "As You Prepare for Your Exams," was held via MS Teams from 6:00 pm to 8:20 pm at the Department of Distance Education, attracting over 500 students. This was the second forum for the second semester and the fourth in the series for the 2024/2025 academic year. The goal was to discuss key strategies for exam preparation.
