About
Prof. Mary Anti Chama is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Ghana. She holds a Ph.D in Organic Natural Product Chemistry and a BSc in Chemistry at the same University. I am a Cambridge-Africa fellow at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. My research focus for the past 18 years is the discovery of bioactive natural compounds from medicinal plants with expertise in various extraction methods, chromatographic and characterization techniques making use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Mass spectrometers. I have experience in multidisciplinary and consortium research work with both local and international collaborators. From Africa, United state and United Kingdom. As part of Drug discovery work, my research group also works with research from the field of biology to screen the isolated compounds against microbes (bacteria, parasites and viruses) and cancer cells. I am open to collaboration in any of these areas including in silico studies. I have supervised over 50 students including MPhil and Ph.D students with over 20 publications in her area of research in peer review journals. She has also participated in and organized conferences and workshops.
