Jerry Joe Ebow Kingsley Harrison
Senior Lecturer
About
Jerry Joe Harrison holds a Ph.D in Medicinal Chemistry with a specialization in retroviral structural biology from the Rutgers University School of Pharmacy. He also holds an MPhil and BSc degrees in Chemistry from the University of Ghana. Harrison is a Fulbright Scholar, HBNU Fogarty global health fellow and Crick Africa Network Fellow.
As a Scientist, he is interested in how diseases occur and can be cured at the molecular level. This requires revealing the atomic details of macromolecular entities implicated in diseases and how these structures facilitate disease occurrence based on which drugs can be developed to prevent the action of these macromolecules that lead to diseases. Dr. Harrison's expertise spans Natural products chemistry, drug analysis, protein engineering, expression and purification, X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM and biophysical techniques for the analysis of macromolecular entities.
