CAS's Director to participate in the 11th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) July 18,2019

CAS’s Director, Dr. Lloyd Amoah will take part in the 11th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) which is the most inclusive international gathering in the field of Asian Studies. ICAS attracts participants from over 75 countries to engage in global dialogues on Asia that transcend boundaries between academic disciplines and geographic areas. The meeting place for the eleventh edition of ICAS is Leiden, the Netherlands. The historic city of Leiden is home to one of the oldest universities, Leiden University, and several of the most renowned Asia research centers. Leiden University will be the main host of ICAS 11, partnering with the city, research institutions and museums, who share equally rich Asian and global connections. ICAS 11 takes place from July 16-19, 2019.

During the conference Dr. Amoah will provide feedback on CAS’s ongoing research on Koreans in Ghana supported by a generous grant by Mellon Foundation through the University of Ghana\s Revitalizing Humanities Research Project(REHURE).

Central to A-ASIA’s participation is A-ASIA Roundtable on “Asian Studies in Africa: State of Affairs and Next Steps.” on Thu, 18 Jul, 2019(11:15 - 13:00pm, at the Lipsius 2.27, University of Leiden.
