CAS’s Director, Dr. Lloyd Amoah will take part in the 11th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) which is the most inclusive international gathering in the field of Asian Studies.
It is not for nothing that Ghana’s 60th independence anniversary this year coincides with the commemoration of 60years of Ghana-Japan relations. Historically the restoration of the Meiji laid the foundations for Japan’s eventual emergence as a notable industrial power initially on the Asian continent and subsequently further afield. Ghanaian nationalists and leading intellectuals such as J.E. Casely-Hayford and Dr. J.B. Danquah had taken full notice.
The Centre for Asian Studies was established following a decision by the Council of the University of Ghana in October, 2015 and begun formal operations on August 1, 2016.
