About
Professor Adote Anum is a faculty member and Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Ghana. He has a dual speciality in clinical psychology and Cognitive Neuropsychology. He has extensive experience in child cognition and measurement of cognition, mental health, and cross-cultural psychology. His research focuses on cognitive development and intelligence across cultural and socioeconomic contexts, with particular interest in children’s learning and assessment in non-Western settings, adolescent wellbeing, and the transmission of cultural knowledge. Professor Anum has taught and supervised at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, contributing to the training of psychologists who combine academic expertise with practical skills. His recent publications address psychotherapy in Ghana, well-being in older adults, and adolescent mental health. Through his scholarship and mentorship, he continues to connect Ghanaian and African psychological experiences to global research and practice, advancing understanding of mental health and development across diverse populations.
