About

 Dr. Asamoah Ampofo has made significant contributions to the field. Before her current role, she served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Cape Coast in Ghana. She currently holds a position as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana, where she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of nursing professionals.

Dr. Asamoah Ampofo has a robust portfolio of publications in peer-reviewed journals, emphasizing her commitment to advancing knowledge in her field. Her research interests focus on Midwifery Education, specifically examining how midwives develop the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Additionally, she is dedicated to exploring the care strategies midwives employ for women experiencing distress during pregnancy and childbirth, such as labour pain, perinatal loss etc.

With a strong inclination towards qualitative research methodologies, Dr. Asamoah Ampofo particularly favors Narrative Inquiry as a means to deepen the understanding of midwifery science. Her insights and expertise have made her a sought-after speaker at various nursing and midwifery platforms, where she shares her knowledge and passion for enhancing maternal health care.

Education and Qualification

Dr. Evelyn Asamoah Ampofo is a distinguished professional Nurse /Midwife, holding a PhD in Nursing specializing in Maternal Health Nursing from the University of Alberta, Canada. She also earned an MPhil and a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Ghana, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast. With over 30 years of extensive experience in nursing and midwifery practice and education
