Dr. Stephen Aidoo holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Ghana, specializing in Organology and certification in instrument repairs and maintenance from the Royal Hague Conservatory of Music and Stitching Hou Schoon Die Saxophone, Holland. His research area includes Standardization and innovations of Ghanaian traditional musical instruments. He is a saxophonist and current Director of the Wind Ensemble of the Department. He teaches courses in African music, Organology, and woodwind instruments. He is a member of the South African Society for Research in Music, International Woodwind Repairmen and Technicians, and the Professional saxophone repair group.
