Dr. Peter Twum-Barimah is a Lecturer at the Department of Music, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music with Theatre Arts, a Master of Philosophy Degree in Music, and a Doctorate Degree in Music all from the prestigious University of Ghana. His research interests are Choral Music, Ghanaian Art Music, Musical Analytical Studies, and Church and Liturgical Music. His current research is centered on the Compositional Styles of the Pilot Period of Ghanaian Choral Art Music Composers. Dr. Twum-Barimah has been involved with Church musical activities for the past twenty (20) years and served as an Organist in the Catholic and Anglican Arch/Diocese of Accra and is currently Principal Organist and Deputy Music Director of the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Adabraka - Accra. He is a consultant in the management of choral Groups and Ensembles. He also directs non-denominational choirs and groups.
