The Department of Music, in collaboration with the Nkyinkyim Band, is thrilled to present "Akwaaba Live," a welcome-back-to-school concert at the Department's courtyard on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 6:30 pm.

This event marks the fourth year of the Akwaaba Live series, which has become a beloved tradition for welcoming students back to each academic year.

The Nkyinkyim Band, a six-member band made up of 2 alumni of the Department, are always excited to visit their Alma mater, with hopes of becoming role models to students pursuing music. The band has been making waves in the local music scene in Accra since 2016. It has received critical acclaim for its debut album, "Where We Dey?" released in 2022. They also represented Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Qatar at the Dreesha Festival. Their new single, "Kwan So," is set to be released soon.
