
The Embassy of Israel in Accra has initiated a partnership with the Department of Music, following a visit on March 5th, 2025. Their visit was to reignite existing collaboration between the two institutions over the years.
The embassy’s delegation, headed by Mrs. Nitza Gizlad, Head of Culture and Diplomacy, engaged in discussions with Dr. Benjamin Amakye-Boateng, Head of the Department of Music, to explore possible partnerships for their upcoming Independence Day celebration. They suggested a masterclass for the students of the department.
The workshop will feature the Cooloolosh Band, a group known for exciting interpretations of jazz is led by the international composer, Yogev Shetrit. The event will give students a chance to learn from experienced musicians and engage in hands-on training.
Dr. Benjamin Amakye-Boateng welcomed the initiative, describing it as an opportunity for our students to expand their knowledge and engage in a meaningful cultural exchange. He expressed optimism that the collaboration would create lasting connections and enhance musical education at the department. Present during the visit were two faculty members, Dr. Eric Sunu Doe and Dr. Stephen Aidoo.
