Dr. Stephen Aidoo

Dr. Stephen Aidoo is an organologist and Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Department of Music. He holds a Diploma in General Music, Bachelor of Music, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in ethnomusicology specifically Organology all from the University of Ghana. His research interest is the Standardization and innovation of Ghanaian traditional musical instruments. He is also a woodwind specialist and a manufacturer of atenteben (a Ghanaian traditional flute) Aside teaching, Stephen is also known as one of the best professional Band Instrument Technicians in Ghana. He took his apprenticeship in wind instrument repair and African instrument innovation from the Stitching Hou Schoon Die Saxophone, Amsterdam and African Musical Instruments, International Library of African Music, Rhodes University, South Africa.
