About the Department
The Department of Dance Studies was established as one of the pioneer Departments of the School of Performing Arts in 1962. It offers programmes in African dance and related fields. The Department’s four-year programme leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. In the year 2018, the Department did a major revision of courses that resulted in the creation of a new syllabus in Dance Studies. Today, the Department’s new syllabus for the Bachelor of Arts degree gives students the opportunity to take a variety of courses in dance that will prepare them better for the job market.
