Office of the Dean of Students

Admission into our nation's premier university is an incredible achievement and heartfelt
congratulations to all you amazing freshmen! Your hard work and sacrifices have led you to
this remarkable milestone, marking the beginning of an exciting and transformative journey.
Let me introduce you to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.

This office is not just a place; it's your crucial support system. The Dean and team are here to provide counselling, share valuable information, manage non-academic student disciplinary matters, and foster non-academic program development. They work
hand-in-hand with hall leaders, the Students' Representative Council (SRC), various student bodies, the Sports Directorate, and the Public Affairs Directorate to ensure a smooth and supportive environment for you. Now, about rules and regulations – they're there to guide us all. Take a moment to familiarise yourselves with the University of Ghana Regulations for Junior Members, easily accessible on the university's website. It's all about creating a harmonious experience for everyone, and we expect all junior members to follow these guidelines.

Despite its challenges, academic discipline brings significant rewards – personal growth,
benefits for your family, and contributions to national development. The Office of the Dean of
Student Affairs is here to assist students facing academic challenges. Their support is
readily available to every one of you.
Getting involved is key to enhancing your learning experience. Attend lectures, participate in
class activities, and consider forming study groups with your peers. The campus is bustling
with student groups and associations – from the Debate Society to Enactus, there's
something for everyone. Engaging in these activities contributes significantly to your overall
development.

For your convenience, the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs is located on the same
premises as the University Post Office, near the Balme Library. This strategic location
ensures easy accessibility for students seeking support and guidance.
Congratulations once again on your admission to the University of Ghana! The entire team
at the Office of Student Affairs is committed to providing their unwavering support throughout
your academic journey.
