At the University of Ghana, we prioritize rigorous and transparent assessment methods to accurately measure student learning and performance. Our comprehensive examination system is designed to uphold high academic standards and provide students with the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills.

Types of Assessments

- Continuous Assessments: Throughout the semester, students participate in various continuous assessments, including quizzes, assignments, projects, and presentations. These assessments evaluate students' understanding of the course material covered thus far.
- End-of-Semester Examinations: Held at the end of each semester, these comprehensive exams assess students' cumulative knowledge and understanding of the course content.

Examination Policies and Procedures

- Registration: Students must register for their courses through the university's online portal to be allowed to undertake assessments and examinations. It is essential to complete the registration process within the specified deadlines.  

- Examination Timetable: The timetable for examinations is released well in advance, providing students with ample time to prepare. Students are advised to review the timetable carefully and ensure they are aware of their examination dates and venues.
- Admittance to Exams: Students are required to present their student identification cards to gain entry into the examination hall. Latecomers will be denied entry.
- Conduct During Examinations: Academic integrity is of utmost importance. Students must adhere to the university's code of conduct, avoid any form of malpractice, and follow the instructions of invigilators and other examination officials.
- Results and Grading: Examination results are released through the university's secure online academic portal. Students can access their grades and academic records, and any discrepancies should be reported to the specific Course Examiners involved promptly.
