UG, McGill University Renew Partnership to Deepen Research and Academic Collaboration

The University of Ghana and McGill University, Canada, have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirming a shared commitment to strengthening international cooperation in higher education and research.
The 5-year agreement, signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, and the Vice-President (Global Engagement) of McGill University, Prof. Anja Geitmann, is expected to enhance opportunities for joint research, faculty and student exchanges, academic seminars, and collaborative publications.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Amfo highlighted the significance of the renewed partnership, particularly in light of the recent launch of the Nkabom project, which she noted is “taking the collaboration between UG and McGill University to another level.”

Prof. Geitmann, on her part, described the collaboration as “powerful,” adding, “I am very proud and pleased to have this interaction with an influential university in the country.”

The ceremony was attended by officials from both institutions, who expressed enthusiasm about the continued partnership and its potential to advance academic excellence and impactful research.
