The course will focus on the physical aspects of the marine environment and will deal with Physical properties of seawater; Heat and mass balance of the oceans; Air-sea interactions; Ocean dynamics; Water mass and global ocean circulation; Vertical structure of the oceans; Oceanic mixing; Waves, tides and shallow water processes; Meteorology; Introduction to numerical modelling techniques in physical oceanography; and Modelling Climate change.
