About

Dr. Tabitha Harriet Bissi Deh is a senior lecturer at the Department of Theatre Arts, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon. Her expertise lies in Applied Theatre with explicit emphasis on Drama in Education/Creative Dramatics, Theatre for Development, Drama Therapy and other Expressive Arts Therapies. Her passion is to employ drama as a tool to inform, educate and entertain. She harnesses the entertainment aspect of drama to inspire and promote healing among both regular and people with living with various disabilities. Tabitha believes that everybody that comes into contact with her has a purpose to fulfil, therefore, an eclectic approach to achieving this purpose must be employed. She volunteers and facilitates development programs for children with special needs especially children with cognitive impairment. Tabitha has taught at various levels with passion and intense curiosity before joining the University of Ghana. Her yearning desire has always been to offer her students and mentees the opportunity to find their unique purposes in life. In order to make her work holistic, she has studied, Education, Drams/Theatre, Guidance and Counseling, Special Education and Clinical Psychology. Tabitha has directed many plays and facilitated numerous community projects. She has twelve Journal Articles to her credit. Tabitha enjoys teaching and her other hobbies include reading, dancing and gardening.
