Message from Dr. Samuel Benagr

Head of Department’s Welcome Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Theatre Arts. You are part of an enthusiastic and succeeding community of creatives and artists made up of experts who work at the top-end of artistic practice and research. As a department, our mission is to foster professionalism and excellence amongst our stakeholders and provide a conducive and enabling space for an exceptional learning experience. This is to enable both faculty and students to become accomplished independent practitioners, scholars, and thinkers, poised to pursue their chosen career paths. 

As we go on this journey, I encourage all of us to make our wellbeing and health a priority throughout the time we have together – the academic years ahead. Being in good health is necessary to thrive in our respective tasks and leverage all the opportunities the university and department can offer us. I will encourage all of us to make personal commitments to get to know ourselves and collaborate on projects of common interest to enhance our individual and departmental growth. Let us all get involved with and be driven by our fantastic performing arts ethos and discipline and maximize all the benefits available to us from allied units and partners in and outside of the university.
