About

Prof. Florence Naab is an Associate Professor of infertility and psychosocial health. She is the Dean of the University of Ghana School of Nursing and Midwifery.

She had her Bachelor of Arts and Master of philosophy degrees from the University of Ghana, and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the U.S.A. She has minor degrees in psychology and gender studies. She has also been trained as a Policy Fellow by the Population Reference Bureau in the USA. Professionally, she is a Registered Nurse and a Midwife. 

She is a researcher and an expert in the area of psychosocial health problems associated with infertility. She has successfully completed research projects on male infertility, female infertility, and the relationship between the beliefs that women hold about infertility and their psychosocial health problems. She has investigated the levels of depression, anxiety, stigma, stress, and social isolation among women with infertility.

She has collaborated and led a team of researchers in the USA and Ghana to complete a research project that tested the feasibility of a culturally appropriate psycho-educational intervention in the form of a randomized control trial. She has also completed collaborative research with a team of researchers in Ghana and South Africa to examine the predictors of psychosocial well-being of couples with infertility in Ghana and South Africa.

She is the Founder of OHaD Wellness Centre, an organization established with a mandate to provide psycho-educational Counseling services to promote the psychosocial well-being of people. Education and Qualification

Bachelor of Arts and Master of Philosophy degrees from the University of Ghana, and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the U.S.A. She has a minor degree in psychology and gender studies.
