John Doe Afornorpe holds an MPhil degree in composition and a Bachelor's degree in Music and Education from the University of Education, Winneba. He also holds a Diploma in general music from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is currently the music director of the regimental band of the Customs division of GRA. He teaches Harmony and Counterpoint in the music department of the University of Ghana as a part-time lecturer. He has a vast experience in the military band, and his interest is in the indigenization of the military band. His research areas are the collection of traditional tunes and arranging them for the wind band.
