Adwoa Arhine is a lecturer in the Department of Music, University of Ghana, Legon. She was a beneficiary of the Fulbright Staff Development Programme in 2014 and has served on numerous university committees, and has also taken several roles in academic administration for the last ten years. She has taught courses in Music of West Africa, Music and Gender Studies, and Ghanaian Traditional Folk Songs. Her interdisciplinary research falls within the fields of African Studies, Ethnomusicology, and Gender Studies. Her areas of research interest include Ghanaian women’s songs and oral performances, performance practice and African identities, music, and play. She has presented at various international conferences, and her papers have appeared in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
