Carol Markwei BSc (Ghana), PhD (Cornell)

Carol Markwei (Dr.), a retired Senior Lecturer in the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology. She formally retired from the services of University of Ghana in July 2010 but continues to provide teaching and research support to the department on a part time basis. As a Plant Physiologist  and having lectured over the years on Cell Ultrstructure and Function and other Plant Physiology courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels (Seed Physiology, Photomorphogenesis etc).

She has shared the course on Cell Ultrastructure and Function (BOTN 413) and Whole Plant Physiology II (BOTN 432) with a full time Plant Physiologist.

She is a member of the team teaching the Plant Diversity, Morphology and Function (PEBO 102) plus its practical course( (PEBO 104) and Growth and Developmental Biology of Higher Plants (PEBO 207) and its practical course (PEBO 209) at level 100 and 200 respectively. She is also part of the team that is involved in the teaching of Economic Botany (BOTN 414).
