PEBO 415: Environmental studies and governance

This course discusses the effects of drivers that promote environmental change that affect biodiversity, both at national and international levels. Highlights on the importance of global environmental change policies will be discussed. Through a series of lectures, seminars, article reviews and field trips, students will gain insight into a wide range of environmental issues including the sources and effects of environmental pollution; principles of environmental impact assessment and its application in Ghana; as well as measures for mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Ghana’s Environmental Policy will be discussed.
