

On April 9, 2024, a significant event unfolded at the Cape Coast Learning Centre, marking a moment of unity and support within the academic community. A delegation from the main campus of the University of Ghana, led by esteemed individuals including Dr. Charles Brenya Wiafe-Akenteng, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, and Prof. Samuel Amponsah, the Head of the Department of the Distance Education Department, embarked on a special visit to the Cape Coast Learning Centre.
Welcomed with open arms by Dr. Hayford Mensah Ayerakwa, the Head of Cape Coast Learning Centre, and his dedicated team, the delegation exchanged warm greetings before delving into the purpose of their visit. Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng articulated that the visit aimed to fortify relations and inspire the staff at the Centre, demonstrating a commitment to support and address any concerns faced by the institution.
In a display of strategic leadership and solidarity, Mr. Seth Asare, the president of the UGDE-JCR, presented a generous donation of four desktop computers to the Centre on behalf of the student executives. This gesture not only symbolized the student body's dedication to resolving pressing issues at the Cape Coast Centre but also highlighted their proactive approach to enhancing the learning environment.
Prof. Amponsah, expressing deep gratitude for the donation, emphasized the significance of the computers in improving teaching and learning experiences at the Centre. Dr. Ayerakwa, in turn, assured the student leaders that the equipment would be optimally utilized for the benefit of all students at the learning center, fostering a culture of support and collaboration among peers.
The visit not only showcased the spirit of giving and community within the academic setting but also underscored the harmonious relationship between students and faculty at the UGDE. In attendance were notable individuals including Mrs. Valentine Gemegah, Chief Administrative Assistant of the UGDE; Mr. Moses Musa Bawa, Academic Affairs Officer of the College of Education; Dr. Jonathan Odame, Head of the Student Support Unit; Dr. Yvette Ussher, Head of the Examination Unit; Mr. Seth Asare, President of the UGDE-JCR and Mr. Ismael Donkor, Deputy Academic Support Head of the UGDE-JCR.
