The Dance Studies Department’s graduate programme offers advanced academic and practical training in dance, aimed at deepening students' understanding of dance as an artistic, cultural, and scholarly discipline. Aims & Objectives

The graduate programme in the Dance Studies Department aims to develop highly skilled professionals, scholars, and creative practitioners in the field of dance. Its objectives are to:

Tuition Method

The Dance Studies Department employs a dynamic and experiential tuition method that blends rigorous practical training with academic inquiry. Students participate in:

Entry Requirement

To gain admission into the Dance Studies Department, applicants must meet the general entry requirements of the University of Ghana. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest or background in dance through prior experience, training, or performance.

Undergraduate applicants may be required to participate in an audition or submit a portfolio showcasing their dance abilities. Graduate applicants must hold a relevant first degree with a good academic record and may also be required to attend an interview or present a research proposal, depending on the program.
