Message from Prof. Daniel Adu Ankrah

Welcome to the Department of Agricultural Extension, a unit within the School of Agriculture. The Department deals with social and technical issues related to the agriculture sector. Our unique nature offers us the opportunity to collaborate with all the units within the School of Agriculture.

Our aim is to train graduates with the highest quality knowledge, skills and attitudes who are competent to perform efficiently in development related work. To achieve this, we offer several programmes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels such as BSc Agricultural Extension, MPhil. Agricultural Extension, M. Agriculture (Extension), MSc. Extension and Livelihood Studies and the PhD. Agricultural Extension. We also collaborate with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture through the various Departments of Agriculture and national Research Institutes to provide student internship opportunities at the undergraduate level. We engage in cutting edge research that addresses societal needs with higher educational institutions in and outside Ghana.

The teaching faculty, and support staff are highly motivated, experienced, friendly and committed to training students and collaborating with other development partners in engaging in cutting-edge research that addresses developmental challenges that confronts the 21st century in agriculture and beyond.
