Prof. Gordon Awandare Presents Security Tools to UG Security Services

The Pro Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), Prof. Gordon A. Awandare has presented security tools to the UG Security Services Unit to enhance the quality of their service and promote the safety of the University Community.

Items presented include truncheons, searchlights, flashlights and taser guns to aid them in successful operations.

Prof. Awandare in presenting the items, commended the Security Personnel for their dedication to duty especially during the University’s recently held Congregation ceremonies. He acknowledged the challenges facing the Security Services Unit and the absence of basic tools that make their operations more difficult. The donation, he noted, was to present them with basic items that will be needed for their work. He urged them to protect the tools and be accountable for each of them.

The Chairman of the Security Committee of the University, Prof. E.Y. Tweneboah-Koduah, expressed his gratitude to the Pro-Vice Chancellor for coming to the aid of the Security Unit and providing them with tools that will make their work easier and effective. He assured the Pro-Vice Chancellor of appropriate usage of the items and accountability.

Mr. Iddrisu Seidu, Acting Security Coordinator, delivered brief remarks and expressed his Unit’s appreciation to Prof. Awandare for the kind gesture.
