The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) and Chair of the Classroom Modernisation Committee, Prof. Gordon A. Awandare, recently led members of the Committee to inspect ongoing works at various lecture halls.

Although civil works are about 70% complete at the ‘N’ Block, the attention of the team was drawn to major disruptions such as tree roots penetrating the foundation of the building and rainwater flowing into the lecture rooms and adjourning offices. The construction team noted that appropriate steps will be taken to prevent further destruction of the building by the tree roots and prevent rainwater from entering the building.

At the K. A. Busia Building, where 90% of civil works is completed, the building has been fortified with burglar proof to protect the newly installed devices against robbery.

It was also proposed that two Wi-Fi Comfort Zones are structured outside the JQB building to grant internet access to students.

At the end of the tour, Prof. Awandare in brief remarks expressed the hope that the project would be accelerated since examinations were over and students are on vacation. He indicated that the projects were scheduled to be completed by February 2023. He expressed immense gratitude to the workers on the field and promised to follow up on continuing developments.
