154 Pupils from UBS Take 2022 BECE Examination

154 pupils, made up of 78 females and 76 males, from the University Basic School have taken the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

At the start of the examination, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo paid a visit to the school to interact with the candidates. She was accompanied by members of the Basic School Board, Chaplaincy Board and the PTA.  

Prof. Amfo assured the candidates of the prayers and support of the University Community and urged them to cast away all fear and doubt during the examinations. She noted that she was confident that having dutifully devoted themselves to their studies over the past few months, and with the thorough preparations provided by their teachers, the candidates were well equipped for the examinations. 

Earlier in welcome remarks, the Head Mistress of the school.  Mrs. Christina Armah, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the team for coming to bless, support and encourage the candidates. She assured all present that the candidates had received sufficient preparation for the examinations.

Former Headmaster of the School, Mr. Alfred Allotey and Chairman of the PTA, Mr. Ishmael Edjekumhene who were present at the occasion, wished the candidates success. 

The Head Prefect, Paula Sowu expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the entire University Management for the honor bestowed upon them, on behalf of her colleagues. She assured the gathering that they would work hard to pass the exams and make the school proud. 

Prayers were said for the candidates by the President of the University Christian Fellowship, Mr. Ezekiel Mawuli and the Chairperson of the Chaplaincy Board, Rev. Prof. Charles Antwi-Boasiako. 

At the end of the five-day examination, the Vice-Chancellor treated the candidates to lunch at the University Guest Centre.   

The Deputy Head of the School, Mr. Eric Sefa, declared the purpose of the gathering and welcomed all present. He expressed joy that the Vice-Chancellor had continued the tradition of hosting the candidates to lunch after the examinations. 

The Chairperson of the Basic School Board, Dr. Gloria Ansa, in her address, said she was confident that the School would record a lot of successes when the examination results are released. She wished the candidates well and encouraged them to keep themselves busy by engaging in chores at home.

Some of the teachers who were present at the lunch gave pieces of advice to the students on how to spend their time profitably. They also advised them to begin studying the Senior Secondary School subjects, so that they will be better prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
