She gave a presentation titled "Agri-Innovation, Technology Transfer and Commercialisation of Research Results – Experiences from Tissue Culture Entrepreneurship," which shed light on the transformative role of biotechnology in advancing agriculture in Ghana and across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prof. Quain discussed how plant tissue culture and other modern biotechnological tools had been employed to improve crop varieties, enhance productivity, and ensure the availability of clean planting materials. She also highlighted the importance of biosafety, referencing the Cartagena Protocol, and emphasized the strategic efforts made by CSIR-Ghana in developing and transferring innovative agricultural technologies.

The students learned about real-world applications of micropropagation, aeroponics and molecular diagnostics to strengthen seed systems and support sustainable agricultural practices.

It was a proud moment to have Prof. Quain return to our department to inspire us.
