Dr. Vincent Von Vordzogbe
Examination Officer, Department of Plant and Environmental Biology
About
I am a Plant Scientist/Ecologist, with proficiency in the use of Remote Sensing and GIS application tools for exploring, studying and analyzing plant species diversity, ecosystem functions, and the impacts of habitat loss and fragmentation, etc., to deliver outstanding research results. My teaching and research work involve measurements and analysis of plant community pattern and soil profile properties, and mapping of vegetation and land use dynamics. I have been engaged in several high-impact projects and successfully contributed to such key projects. These extensive engagements provide experience in biodiversity, climate change and sustainability studies critical for understanding and addressing the complex challenges posed to our environment. Some of my notable achievements include investigations into how different plant species and communities contribute to carbon sequestration thereby responding to climate change adaptation and mitigation, vegetation fire behaviour modelling, restoration of degraded habitats, etc., all of which showcase my commitment to excellence and innovation. I am passionate about seeking further opportunities to collaborate and drive growth of students of the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology.
