
On Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, the University of Ghana, Takoradi City Campus, visited the Form Three students of Fijai Senior High School as part of their efforts to enhance visibility in the Western Region. The event was attended by several key representatives from the Takoradi City Campus, including Ms. Bernardine Agyeman, Senior Assistant Registrar and Campus Administrator; Mr. Michael Asante Darko, Principal Accounting Assistant; Mrs. Mercy Obeng, Principal Administrative Assistant; Mrs. Vida Korkor Amartey, Senior Organiser; and Mrs. Grace Arthur. Other staff in attendance included Ms. Angilet Mary Abban and Ms. Mary Amoah.
Mrs. Vida Korkor Amartey steered the day’s event.
Mrs. Grace Arthur, the first speaker, spoke about the University of Ghana, Takoradi City Campus, its location, and advantages of pursuing a degree from the satellite Campus.
She also provided a comprehensive overview of the University of Ghana, detailing its admission processes and enlightening the students on the application process as well. She emphasized the importance of purchasing the e-voucher, and outlined the methods for purchasing an e-voucher, either through bank payments or mobile money.
Mrs. Mercy Obeng, the second speaker discussed various topics such as the grading system at the University of Ghana, the diverse academic disciplines, and the programs offered within those disciplines. She then spoke about the cut-off points for undergraduate admission into each program and the subject requirements for those programs, as well as the requirements for admission into diploma programs.
The students were then given an opportunity to ask questions, which were adequately addressed by staff present. The program concluded with the distribution of the University of Ghana brochures to the students and a vote of thanks from the School Prefect.
